About the Beacon

Written By: admin

The All Souls Beacon is a new, lay-produced electronic publication devoted to shedding light into different corners of our large congregation. It succeeds but does not replace the All Souls Quarterly founded in 1985 by the late Marietta Moskin and managed by her son, James Moskin ‘83. Its new editor is Carolyn Jackson ‘94, a member of the congregation who formerly assisted the Moskins.

Publication will be online with ongoing entries. If you want to be electronically alerted to new entries, please click on the “pizza-slice” icon on the masthead. As time goes by and resources become available, we hope to publish in print articles of enduring interest.

All Souls members Melinda Beck ’98 (Wall Street Journal) Jane Furse Friedman ’88 (NY Daily News), and the author, editor, and poet Phoebe Hoss ‘90 will provide guidance and editorial assistance. We seek contributions, subject to editing, from anyone of any age in our larger congregation.  (Congregation members are identified by the year in which they signed the book.)

Our primary areas of interest at this time include profiles of members, news of events and activities that take place at church or relate to the All Souls community, essays about spiritual growth and adjusting to life’s challenges, and poetry. Please send suggestions and contributions to: editor@allsoulsbeacon.org

Members’ names are followed by the year in which they took the right hand of fellowship and signed the church book.
